DOS recorder

Overview

DOS recorder is an application which records "text videos" - the text output of console (text-only) applications (Windows, MS-DOS or Linux) into specially designed, cross-platform compressed "text demo" files.

• Text-based games, such as rogue-likes
• Presentations of old DOS applications, or Win32 console applications
• Take color HTML screenshots
• etc.

Platforms

• Windows: full-featured recorder and player
• Linux: full-featured player, minimalistic recorder
• Java: minimalistic player (web applet)

Credits

This program was catching dust on my harddrive for a few months in a sort-of-finished state; finally, today I found the courage to shake off the dust, kill the (obvious) remaining bugs and release it.
